Personal Improvement plan

My Family

My wife : Shweta
My daughter : Shanaya (14 years)
My son : Kayaan (10 years)

This is the start of a new Hindu year post Diwali. Hope you all had a great Diwali and wishing you all a very productive year ahead. In this new year, let’s all have two goals - MEASURED & FOCUSED

  • First towards - Health
  • Second towards - Knowledge

At whatever stage of life you are - there is ALWAYS scope to improve both health and knowledge. The scope is infinite. So, lets set our own goals.

Sharing my goals >

Personal Improvement Plan
Goal 1 Activity Current Target Plan
Health Run 2 Kms run 5 Kms run Increase 50 mtrs everyday - adding 1 km every 20 days - so in 60 days should touch total 5 kms
Knowledge Study Blockchain business case studies Random 15 case studies Study 3 case studies per month (1 every 10 days)

I really want each one of us to come up with a small personal improvement plan. Make sure that it

- Is clearly defined
- Is something you want to achieve
- Can be measured

And lets share it with the entire GV family. You may share it with your family and friends as well.

Leo’s Roar

By Leon

Remember, last month I talked about Just do it! This month I want to shift gears and instead of procrastinating, putting things off, my new mantra is Do it now! … proactive action. Yep, anticipate what must be done and take the initiative, do it. Early!

Come to think of it, my dad used to lecture Leo and me on how being a leader meant showing initiative. Not waiting until something happened. Anticipating things, planning, and taking decisive action … before something happened. We always wondered how he could see into the future, but over time we learned that it just takes time to think through what might happen next. During the dry season dad taught us to think about the water level in the lake and when it got to a certain level, way before it dried up, to move our pride, our family, up stream where the lakes were deeper, and game (our source of food) was plentiful. In this way we averted the crisis of waking up one day with no water to drink and the game gone. So, deciding what to do isn’t magic, it’s just careful observation and planning.

Do it now!

The main lesson to learn from this is not putting things off. To stay ahead, you need time to reflect, to think. So, you need to get your work done as soon as possible. Which means, Do it now! Once your work is done you can then take the time to reflect on what needs to be done next and do it early. That way, if something unforeseen happens, you won’t be scrambling to catch up. Call it an insurance policy.

I like to play a game, too. If I get my work done early, I reward myself. Lately, that means getting Dean to buy me a vanilla milk shake. Mmmmm! Ice cream that literally melts in your mouth. Try it. It works for me.

Wow! It’s only the 15th of the month and I’ve already written my blog that’s due at the end of the month. Guess it’s time for a treat! Better find Dean and see if he’ll take me for a ride … to the ice cream shop.

Next Month

That’s enough for this month. Like my dad told me, be concise, get to the point. And when you’ve made the sale, stop selling. It’s time to stop selling.

So … until next month, as Kunalsinh says, ““Be Safe, Work Hard, Eat Well, Sleep Tight”. I will!

Bye for now … Leon
